“TUPU”
Named after the traditional South American Tupu breast pin. Worn for over 1700 years throughout the Andean regions of South America, tupu pins were worn primarily by women. Historically used to fasten and adorn woven shawls this contemporary interpretation blends historical reference with luxurious artistry.
An 18k gold sculpted hand, detailed with a miniature diamond ring and a jeweled cuff adorned with pearls, delicately holds a fine gold chain. Suspended from the chain is a fully articulated sterling silver fish, its body accented with luminous pearls and sparkling diamonds, and finished with a richly gilt gold tail.
This piece is both a nod to cultural heritage and a statement of refined craftsmanship, transforming a functional garment pin into an exquisite jewel one that bridges history, symbolism, and high art.
